And I have to mention what a great first week you had. Currently top of the ATP brackets on the site, nicely done!

Will a new thread be done for the Lord Vader team winners and Senator Padme team winners?

Re: Tennis Draw Challenge 2018 - Results & Discussion

No, we don't keep track of weekly teams winners in Vader & Padme Lexus because those competitions are a year long strategy and almost all of us are saving picks for the bigger events which carry more points.

It is sorta meaningless to have weekly winners as they wouldn't carry any prestige among the Yoda Crew, it has come up many times and the decision has been made to leave it.

2017 - Rey Saber Champ, Padme Champ, Captain Phasma Champ, Obi Wan Runner Up, BIG 5 Career Slam, Inaugural Yoda Crew Hall Of Fame Inductee, 2016 Padme Runner Up
2015 - Obi Wan Master, King Droid, Yoda Crew Player Of The Year, 2014 Yoda Cup Guru Race Runner Up
2013 - Guru Race Winner (2014 Yoda Cup Guru), US Open Yoda Cup, Yoda Crew Player Of The Year
2012 - Lord Vader, 2011 - Wimbledon Yoda Cup

Thank you Tono, I supposed something like that, but it´s always good to listen your reasons.

I guess it's a confidence after winning the Grand Slam: both Mladenovic and Babos in the finals.

Definitely looks like it;- especially for Mladenovic! Success breeds success!

Re: Tennis Draw Challenge 2018 - Results & Discussion

took Mlad in Padme because she won the AO dubs..she use to play a lot of dubs and it helped her singles game. Maybe she'll get back to playing both.

Re: Tennis Draw Challenge 2018 - Results & Discussion

Great week last week for Snolly as he tied for the bracket win in both St. Pete (with Tenedab) and Taipei (with BHP)!

Re: Tennis Draw Challenge 2018 - Results & Discussion

Sofia bracket is closed.  7 of us with Muller as champ, 5 with Wawa, and then a smattering of Mannarino/Haase/Troicki.

Re: Tennis Draw Challenge 2018 - Results & Discussion

Quito
No one took 3-times-in-a-row Champ Victor Estrella Burgos here.  Not one!  Adunar took him as runner-up, and he's the only one to do even that.  TBF, he's playing badly.  But does that really matter when it comes to Quito?

By far the most popular winner pick is Monfils, with a few for PCB, and then some random Ramos/Lorenzi/Karlovic.  It was interesting enough to see Karlovic enter a clay tournament, but even more interesting that Murree picked him to win it!

Montpellier
It's all Tsonga and Goffin here, without exception, but there are some interesting runner-up picks, like Drivers' Rublev.  Unlikely there will be much variation in scores here.  Poor Snolly has already lost a SFist in Mischa Z.

Re: Tennis Draw Challenge 2018 - Results & Discussion

In Quito teams all in Yoda Crew pick some Spanish player (seed #1 Pablo Carreño Busta, seed #2 Albert Ramos Viñolas or unseeded Pablo Andújar), except TennisElbow, Drivers and LexusGF. Andújar is out, interesting to see that will happen with the others.

Very interesting so soon after their Davis Cup win.

It´s possible, I think that the assistance or not of the main players of every team it´s determinant in the result of the series.

Re: Tennis Draw Challenge 2018 - Results & Discussion

Spotec gets the one in low-scoring Sofia, with only an 11 point difference between him and last place.  The same difference separated first and last in Quito, with BHP taking 1st place there.

At least in Montpellier we scored some points.  Tono wins that one with a solid 41, correctly predicting all 4 SFists!

I'm the only one who took Pliskova to win in Doha.  Get ready to eat my dust, losers!

Hopefully it's a low cal dust. No confidence in defending champ, I guess.

This present format allows me to make picks but I cannot pick the tiebreakers and finalize the draw. I see that 3 people were able to do it so far. Is there a trick I don't know?
