Interesting thoughts there Arvis!!

I like the look of most of your women's predictions actually, that Pennetta prediction is profound.

However, I'm not agreeing with you on the men's side though, Novak is so dominant right now that it's hard to pick against him in 2016 in the Slams, however I think he will be tipped up in either Melbourne and/or Wimbledon in 2016, at least I'm hoping anyway.
Nole fans will want a calendar GS but I'm hoping we see some different winners again in 2016, a new GS winner would be great but I only see that happening because of injury and/or a major upset or two knocking out a few of the big boys.

Would love to see Federer medal at the Olympics, maybe gold in the mixed and silver or bronze in the singles?

Rafa finishing in the Top 3 could happen but he will have to start the year well and definitely do well on the red stuff, I agree he will struggle with Novak again though.

I don't see Andy falling out of the Top 5, not by the end of the season anyway, he may have a few peaks and troughs throughout the year and fall temporarily under that mark but I don't see it happening, unless he misses some big events of course.

Gasquet will struggle to stay in the ten but I think Berdych and Ferrer might hang in there for one more year.

Interesting trio of Top 10 pushers for 2016 Arvis, Cilic (maybe), Goffin (briefly perhaps) and Sock (not if he is smelly)

Safe prediction with Kei I think too, I know you wanna predict so much more for the Prince but better not to in case of glass breaking again huh.

More of the same in men's tennis this year I feel Arvis, with a few surprises here and there thrown in for good measure.

Mr Anderson might briefly break the Top 10 this season I reckon but won't stay there.
Borna Coric will make the Top 20 by the end of 2016. (just)

Halep and/or Muguruza will win a Slam in 2016

ATP

Novak: stays #1 for the whole year once again. Wins two or three slams, including the French.
Nadal: comes back into the top4, maybe top 3. Wins a couple 1000s but fails to win a slam, losing to Novak in an epic French Open final.
Roger: has another very good year. Wins some tournaments, maybe a slam. Wins Olympics gold medal in mixed doubles with Hingis. Top4 finish.
Murray: has another solid year but not as good as 2015. He will be a father and that might affect him. I think he will have a strong Aussie Open showing and a poor end of the year.
Stan: qualifies for the WTF once again and reaches at least one GS semefinal. Will be a threat at two majors and cause a big upset. Expect him to play better at the 1000s.
Berdych and Ferrer: probably end up #9 and #10. So still pretty consistent seasons but not as good as the past few ones.
Nishikori: one GS semifinal, qualifies for WTF. Better year than 2015.
Gasquet: fall out f the top20.
Tsonga: definitely a solid year I believe. Could go deep at a slam.
Goffin, Thiem should be solid top20 players.
Cilic: beware of the guy, he could be very dangerous in a couple tournaments but otherwise pretty disappointing.
Raonic: back in the top10, another GS SF.
Dimitrov: slowly comes back in the top20 and has a good end of the year.

WTA:

At least 3 differents GS winners, at least 3 different players ranked #1 in 2016.
Serena: one Slam, surrenders hers #1 at some point.
Halep: wins her first GS, most likely at the french.
Masha: Another very good year. Wins another slam and reaches #1 spot.
Muguruza: deep at the major events and very consistent but no big win for her. Still a top5 finish.
Bencic enters the top10, Azarenka comes back in the top10.
Aggie falls down the rankings, along with Bacs and Safarova.
Ana Ivanovic has another deep run at a slam and qualifies for WTF.
Olympics: total surprise winner and/or medalists.

Very interesting predictions and I agree with most of them! Just let me add that my girl Svitolina will upset a high seed at a major a few times in 2016.

Kyrgios will join the top 10
Nishikori will leave the top 10
Bencic joins the top 10
Serena might retire
Venus has an even better year than last
Azarenka back in the top 10
A golden slam is possible for Djokovic

Good insights Spotec. I agree with you and since I am a Rafa fan, I am really hoping your predictions are spot-on-tec.

My thoughts to the other guys.....or best of the rest.

- Stan the man is a miracle...he can win another slam and even in Rio but at the same time he can lose in the early rounds...but at the end I think it will be a good year for him
- Berdych, Ferrer, Gasquet, Monfils, Anderson and Raonic will have a normal year....wins of some 250s and 500s....thats it.
- Tsonga, Cilic, Dimitrov and Nishikori have the potential to cause some more damage...but they are not consistent enough to win a slam this year..maybe they can win a 1000 Event

My thoughts regarding the young guns:

- Kyrgios has the potential to secure a big win...Masters or even a Slam...especially this year in Melbourne. But he has to concentrate on tennis and not all the other things...like some darlings of the WTA Tour

- Coric and Thiem may win some 250s or 500s...but will not go deeper than quarters of a slam

- Kokkinakis, Edmund, Berankis and Dzumhur can record some surprising wins but it will be difficult for them to secure a first title

4. Rafa, Andy or Stan

Depends on the draw but I think Kyrgios can go really deep this year....he has the game and the attitude...but he is always close of being too arrogant...and that may stop him.

I agree that Zverev is a big unknown... he could become really good... but I think it will depend on his movement ability.

Coric and Thiem are difficult to predict - it doesn't look to me that they have enough big game to really make an impression at the top... but sometimes it's hard to know what is in the heart - and that can make a big difference.

It's interesting that you put Dimitrov in the group that can 'cause more damage'... I'm not sure about that... why do you think so?

and by the way...we are not allowed to forget Del Potro. I hope he will come back healthy at any time....I love his unbelievable forehand destroying everything...he could really be a threat to Novak.

Yes, I read that too...he will not come back I think. But his forehand was impressive as well.
