Thanks for the summary, TE. I guess we are in the Sevastova's boat together. Have a nice sailing!

Re: THE PADME CUP! (Padme League 2018)

Padme is like the one comp I'm actually doing well in (missed 4 tournament and still in 9th) but I may have flushed that right down the toilet with my thrown-together team here.  I mean, Kontaveit?  What?  Sounded good at 12:30am.

Re: THE PADME CUP! (Padme League 2018)

Thanks tdab, went for Anastasia with Bertens so hopefully one of them wins a few matches.
Looks like Anett is going to do it for ya Arvis.

Re: THE PADME CUP! (Padme League 2018)

No Perfect Teams for Madrid now that Sevastova is out.

Re: THE PADME CUP! (Padme League 2018)

In Den Bosh, every single one of us has Vandy, and all but Dwight have Kontaveit.  O___O
I'm not used to that kind of uniformity in Padme.

Over in Nottingham it's a little more varied, but not much.  Quite a lot of losses already, and it's not even the end of the first day.  Lots of us had Giorgi, and Edu even had Kristie Ahn.  Hard to anticipate exactly what manner of Grass Court Crazy we're going to get from tourney to tourney, eh?

Re: THE PADME CUP! (Padme League 2018)

Only Dwight has a possible PT left after Kontaveit's loss.  Nice Bencic pick, Dwight!

Re: THE PADME CUP! (Padme League 2018)

Edu achieves a Perfect Team in Bucharest!  All 4 SFists and a grand total of 680 points for him, obviously the high score for the week.  Managing a PT in a WTA 280 is seriusly impressive.  Adunar, Edu, and Tono achieved the low score with 121 Gstaad.
Some nice sneaky picks here by TE in Gstaad, and Edu and Spotec in Bucarest.  Well done, guys, especially Edu, whose magical Hercog pick helped him get that PT.

Overall, the standings aren't much different from April.  Tenedab continues to lead, with TE behind by about 800 points.  However, HTS, who was in 4th place going into the clay court season, is now in 11th.  Why?  Look no further than Madrid and Rome.  HTS totaled less than 1000 points COMBINED between those two tournaments.  How much did our leader Tenedab gain in just those two tournaments?  3932.  A 3000 point difference.  It's crazy how just two tournaments can basically tank an entire year.
Adunar continues to maintain the #3 spot, Drivers now firmly in the Top 5 at #4, and Tono rounds it out.  Aiur continues to be WAY in the basement and has even missed the deadline on several tournaments, but he is still fighting gamely and continuing to join us each week.  Good on you, Aiur.  You never know when you will get that Cilic pick, eh?

Re: THE PADME CUP! (Padme League 2018)

An up and down week in Padme, with the two tournaments both defying expectations going in.

Despite my naming the tournament "Dart Board", we had four teams get within 1 win of a PT in Nanchang. Dwight, Tono, TE, and HTS share the win with 630.  Even the low score, Snolly, was still 342, which is decent.

In fact, that score is higher than the high score in Moscow Int., which is 260, achieved by TE.  So TE gets the win in both Padme tournaments!  Well done!
We had not a single finalist and only one SFist among us here.  Murree and Arvis share the low score of 92.

No change in the overall rankings, although TE took just a small bit out of Tenedab's lead by about 100 points.  Considering the margins we're looking at in the Top 5, though, we won't see much changing here when it's just two small tournaments.
1. Tenny
2. TE (-707)
3. Adunar (-2588)
4. Drivers (-3433)
5. Tono (-3733)

Re: THE PADME CUP! (Padme League 2018)

Well, San Jose was a bit unpredictable and all over the place, with the top 2 seeds both withdrawing AFTER the tournament closed, and then several upsets happening as well.  However, it was still quite lucrative, with the Top 5 all breaking the 500 point mark.  Arvis and BHP shared the win with 672 points, while Dtrain and Aiur flopped with only 104.

While BHP backed this up in DC, Arvis had to go and ruin it, though, by getting the low score, only managing 91.  So very Arvis-like.  However, we had three big winners in DC, TE, BHP, and Tenedab, all scoring 371.  They all beat 4th-place Dtrain by...... 1 point.
Congrats to BHP for winning both WTA tournaments last week!  And good to see Kuznetsova back in form.  I'm a big fan of both her and Buzu, so I'm happy with these results.

Current Padme Standings
1. Tenedab: 32896
2. TE: -707 (he and Tenny scored exactly the same in both tournaments last week)
3. Adunar: -2838 ↓250
4. Drivers: -3293 ↑140
5. Edu: -4051 (replaces Tono in Top 5, beating him by 31)

Welcome to the Padme Top 5, Edu!  Drivers gained some points on the lead this week, but is still rather firmly in 4th.
